18 week update

Life is good :)

I feel great, the weather has been beautiful, work has been going well for both Will and myself....life is just GOOD.

We got Reid's room painted this week! I had taped it off and started it, but decided that it was probably best to hire someone. Dark blue paint + white baseboards, white ceiling, and light carpet does NOT equal success. There is a photo below of the almost finished product, we still need to install the white chair rail between the light and dark blue portions (PS, anyone know how to install a chair rail or have an angle saw? haha)
Yesterday I went shopping and got some new outfits for my little man, all at good deals. I found a lot of Ralph Lauren stuff at Marshalls. My mom also sent me home with a ton of loot that she has accumulated. Lets just say, this is NOT all going to fit in his closet. The items in the photo below are about 1/3 of what I brought home yesterday....

My mom and sister are starting to plan my baby shower. It's going to be at my house on Saturday, June 28th, so save the date! If my mom and sister are planning it, you know it's going to be fabulous! :)
Okay, I haven't givin you a baby update in a while. Here is what Reid is experiencing around this time, 18 weeks!

You are 18 weeks pregnant. (fetal age 16 weeks)
*The fetus is now 6 inches long and weighs 7 ounces.
*They can hear sounds and may be startled by loud noises.
*Recognizable active and rest periods.

The skin is building a protective wax layer (vernix). Vernix (a white cheese like protective material) forms on baby's skin with the lanugo, a soft lightly pigmented hair covering the body and limbs, both help to protect your baby's skin during the months in water. Your baby may hear your heart beating, your stomach rumbling or blood moving through the umbilical cord. He or she may even be startled by loud noises.Tiny air sacs called alveoli begin to form in lungs and the vocal chords are formed. Baby goes through the motions of crying but without air doesn't make a sound; yet. Your baby may have the same awake and sleep patterns of a newborn. Baby will have a favorite position for sleep and recognizable active and rest periods.
